This is a brilliant book if you really want to understand what your dog needs and why he/she acts like she does and if you want to try to really learn to be in control. Ok, so there are parts which are irritatingly American-style and rather sycophantic towards certain celebrity dog owners he's worked with, but if you get past that, he really does make sense and he really understands dog mentality. It's not a book to learn how to get them to sit and do tricks, more about the natural dog psychology and why it can be a problem to humanize them too much. It gives practical advice on how to do make sure you are the pack leader and that your dog is happy.
