Let's Bring the Summer!

After all this recent drizzle (hail yesterday! And actual flooding!) it’s time we all had something to perk us up. Luckily this opportunity is just around the corner, when Julia Green is coming back to Mr B’s on May 31^st to chat about her new book, Bringing the Summer.

We’re big fans of Julia, and it’s with open arms that we welcome her back to the third book launch that has taken place here at the shop.

In her new book, Bringing the Summer, we once more encounter Freya, who is gearing up for her A levels after a languorous summer. She is learning to come to terms with the death of her brother Joe, and a distraction manifests itself in the form of the blonde and ridiculously gorgeous Gabe. But it seems Gabe’s brother also has a soft spot for Freya…

One of the reasons we’re so proud of Julia is that she is a local author flying the flag for great, emotional teenage fiction. She doesn’t shy away from serious subjects like birth, death and love, and this is no doubt one of the reasons she has such a strong following amongst teenagers who don’t want to be talked down to.

Julia will be talking about Bringing the Summer as well as signing copies over some drinks and nibbles from 6.30pm until 8.30pm on Thursday May 31^st, and we will be offering a discount on all books written by her. All are welcome and there will be no ticket required. We hope you’ll join us in welcoming her back and celebrating her new title.
